current makeup staples
Back when I started blogging (back in May 2013!!) I began as a beauty blogger. Over the past four and a half years, I've had quite the journey with make-up and beauty and while I certainly have less of it now (a post is forthcoming about my makeup purge), I'd be lying if I said I didn't love it. So, I wanted to share those products that I use on an almost daily basis.
Base: I no longer wear a tinted moisturizer or foundation and instead stick just with concealer. I use the NARS Radiant Creamy concealer in Vanilla for blemishes and redness, while the Yves Saint Laurent La Touche Eclat is mostly for brightening the under eye area.
Cheeks: I naturally have dry skin — and it's even drier now that it's winter — so I'm not a huge fan of powder products. Because of that, I've been sticking to these two Glossier Cloud Paints, in Haze and Dusk. Haze is a pretty deep berry while Dusk is a darker peach color. Sometimes I mix them together, sometimes I wear Dusk on my apples and Haze as a super subtle contour.
I'm doing eyebrows as its own little category because even if I just wear concealer and lip balm, I will still always put on some brows. I use the trusty Anastasia Brow Wiz in Taupe for filling in gaps and creating shape, while Glossier Boy Brow holds everything in place.
I'm currently wearing three colors on rotation: Glossier Jam, Make Up Forever Rouge Artist Cream that does not have a color name or number on the tube(!), and MAC's Amorous (not pictured because I briefly lost it in a handbag). So basically, either a berry or a nude.
So that's it! It's not a very long list, but that's just about everything I use on a daily basis. Sometimes if I'm feeling ~ fancy ~ I'll throw on some eyeshadow and mascara or even a red lip, but a lot of mornings, I keep things very natural.
